For this test, you take a small, dose of radioactive iodine, called radioiodine, to see how much of it collects in your thyroid gland and where it collects in the gland. If your thyroid gland takes in a high amount of radioiodine, that means your thyroid gland is making too much thyroid hormone. WebbLow dose tracer scan. I had my TT in March 2024 & RAI in April 2024. The post RAI WBS showed uptake in thyroid bed and sternal notch. I checked my TG 6 months post RAI and it was 1.30 and antibodies were 1.33. I had an ultrasound and it was normal. Now at the 1 year mark I again checked my TG and it is stable at 1.33 and antibodies fell to 0.74.
